🍲 Krishi Vardan Dal Tadka Recipe
Simple. Wholesome. Full of goodness.
Ingredients:
1 cup Krishi Vardan Toor Dal
3 cups water
1 medium onion (finely chopped)
1 medium tomato (chopped)
2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
1 tsp ginger (grated)
1–2 green chillies (optional)
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
Salt to taste
2 tbsp ghee
Fresh coriander leaves
A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
Method:
1️⃣ Cook the Dal
Wash and soak the dal for 20 minutes. Pressure cook with water, turmeric, and salt until soft and creamy.
2️⃣ Prepare the Base
Heat ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and hing. Let them crackle.
3️⃣ Build the Flavour
Add chopped onions and sauté until golden. Add ginger, garlic, and green chillies. Cook till aromatic.
4️⃣ Add Tomatoes & Spices
Add tomatoes, red chilli powder, and coriander powder. Cook until oil separates.
5️⃣ Combine & Simmer
Pour the cooked dal into the pan. Mix well and simmer for 5–7 minutes for rich flavour.
6️⃣ Final Touch
Garnish with fresh coriander and drizzle a little ghee on top.
